The Heart-Centering Technique That Changed How I Make Decisions

What if the part of you that knows exactly what you need isn't in your head at all?
Most of us live from the neck up—analyzing, strategizing, replaying old wounds on an endless loop. We think our way through problems that thinking created in the first place. We wonder why we keep hitting the same walls, attracting the same patterns, feeling stuck in survival mode while swearing we're "manifesting abundance."
Here's what Georgia Jean and the Circle of Light taught me: your mind runs on old programming. Your heart runs on truth.
The mind operates from trauma, conditioning, and limitation. It's designed to keep you safe, not free. The heart? The heart is master consciousness. It sees all possible timelines, knows your inherent worth, and will guide you to exactly what you're ready to release or receive—if you'll let it lead.
This isn't metaphor. This is mechanics.
The Heart as Your Internal GPS
Think of your heart as a supercomputer AI generator (Georgia's words, not mine—and they're perfect). It doesn't traffic in pink fluffy vibes or spiritual bypassing. It fast-tracks you directly to blocked energy so you can actually move through it.
Your heart knows things your mind hasn't caught up to yet. It knows which job offer aligns with your purpose. It knows why that relationship keeps triggering you. It knows what fear you're ready to finally let go of.
The problem? We've forgotten how to listen.
The Heart-Centering Technique: A Step-by-Step Practice
This is practical. This is repeatable. This works.
1. Find a Quiet Space & Breathe
Sit or lie down somewhere you won't be interrupted. Place one or both hands over the center of your chest—your heart space.
Take three slow, intentional breaths:
- Inhale through your nose for 4 counts
- Exhale through your mouth for 6 counts
This isn't just woo-woo breathing. You're calming your nervous system, signaling to your body that it's safe to stop running survival programs.
2. Drop Your Attention into the Heart
Close your eyes. Now here's the key move: mentally drop your focus from your head—where it lives 99% of the time—down into the physical space of your heart.
Imagine a soft golden light or warm energy glowing there. Feel the weight of your hand. Notice the rhythm of your heartbeat.
Say silently or out loud:
"I center in my heart now."
3. Surrender the Mind
Your thoughts will keep coming. Worries will bubble up. Your body might twitch or resist. That's normal. Direct your attention back to the breath.
Don't fight any of it. Let thoughts float by like clouds.
Then repeat:
"I surrender my mind to my heart."
This is permission. The mind resists change because change feels like danger. Surrender tells it: You can rest now. Something wiser is driving.
4. Ask the Heart a Clear Question
This is where the magic happens.
Use this exact phrasing:
"Heart, what do I need to know right now about [X]?"
Fill in the blank: money, your relationship, that recurring fear, your health, your purpose, the decision you're avoiding.
Then wait in stillness. Do not analyze. Do not force an answer. Do not let your mind jump in with its usual script.
Just. Wait. Be Patient. See what arises when you pay attention purposefully (This is mindfulness).
5. Receive Without Judgment
Answers from the heart don't always arrive in words. They might come as:
- A feeling (warmth, pressure, sudden peace)
- A memory or image that surfaces
- A knowing—something you just suddenly understand
- An event later that day or week that answers your question
Whatever arises is energy revealing itself. Even if it's shame. Even if it's fear. Even if it's painful.
Respond with:
"I love and accept this energy exactly as it is."
This dissolves resistance. This is how you alchemize stuck patterns.
6. Stay or Return Later
Start with 3–10 minutes daily. Return anytime you feel stuck, anxious, or reactive.
Over time, something shifts. The heart becomes your default operating system instead of your override button.
What Georgia Wants You to Know
It's normal to feel uncomfortable at first. The heart fast-tracks you to blocked energy. That's not a bug—it's the feature.
This isn't about feeling good all the time. This is about feeling real. The heart doesn't deal in spiritual bypassing.
Use this before big decisions, difficult conversations, or creative work. It aligns you with your highest timeline—the version of your life where you're not running old programming.
Try This Today
You don't need to believe in anything for this to work. You just need to practice.
Before your next meeting. Before you open your email. Before you make that call you've been avoiding.
Hand on heart. Three breaths. Ask the question.
See what answers.
