What Grew From Here
Oct 05, 2026If an older post brought you to this page, thank you. Some of these pieces were written years ago, and people still find their way to them. I want to tell you where the work has gone since.
A while back, someone gifted me a website. They had paid close attention to who I am and built a home around what they saw. When I first looked at it, I recognized parts of myself that had never quite made it onto this site.
Journey Mindfulness was built to teach mindfulness well, and it still does. But the person behind the teaching, the one carrying more questions than answers, wasn't really here. It is a strange thing to be seen more clearly through someone else's eyes than through your own front door.
That site is jamesoneillguide.com. It is where I now work with people one-on-one, and where you will find the fullest picture of what I offer.
The response to it surprised me. People wrote to say they felt met. That gave me enough nerve to go further, so I started a Substack called Dark Night Alchemy, a place to go deeper than I had here.
I did not expect it to become a source of joy. It has. Writing there is less about explaining a practice and more about telling the truth about the work, my own included. If the older posts here meant something to you, that is where the conversation continues.
Out of all of it came Magnetic Selecting. It started as a course: a way to get honest about what you actually want, and then take the steps that make it real. Over time it asked to become something that would last, and it became a book.

Nothing here is going away. The MBSR course and the self-hypnosis practice still live on this site, and so does this archive. It is simply no longer the only room in the house.
