Introduction
On a recent episode of the Journey Mindfulness Podcast, I had the honor of speaking with Peter Maxwell Slattery — an internationally recognized author, speaker, and one of the most documented ET contactees in modern history. From his home at Jaya Sanctuary in Victoria, Australia, Peter has dedicated his life to guiding seekers in self-mastery, healing trauma, and opening to multidimensional connection.
Our conversation explored the intersections of mindfulness, extraterrestrial contact, and the evolution of human consciousness. Below are some of the most powerful insights from our dialogue.
(Note: While many of Peter's experiences are absolutely fantastic, impressive, and well documented in his videos, movies, and books, this conversation focused on the message and integration of practices to be more heart centered, kind, inspirational and empowering through all the chaos and uncertainty in our world right now. The Chaos Before Harmony
Peter described humanity’s current moment as a time of “create your own reality.” Much like the dissonance between musical notes, our world is experiencing chaos as we shift into a higher harmony.
“Each key has a perfect geometry to it, but in between you’ve got chaos. That’s the chaos we are going through collectively and individually. But it’s not who and what we are.”
This turbulence, he explained, is not a sign of collapse but of transformation. It is a transition point, a necessary passage before reaching a higher level of coherence. Understanding this allows us to meet challenges with perspective rather than despair.
No One is Coming to Save Us
A recurring theme in Peter’s message was sovereignty. While non-human intelligences influence our world — both positively and negatively — the ultimate responsibility lies with us.
“No one’s going to save us except ourselves. But in the end, it’s actually a game that we’re in. And if you know how to play the game, with knowledge and wisdom, you can be effective as a creative being in this reality.”
In other words, waiting for external forces to solve our problems keeps us powerless. Empowerment comes from recognizing our creative power and applying wisdom to shape reality. We need to take action and not be passive.
The Role of Thoughts and Inner Work
Our thoughts, emotions, and intentions ripple outward, shaping not only our own experience but the collective field. Peter emphasized the importance of clearing distortions, practicing self-mastery, and returning to a childlike state of openness.
“Most people, if you sit them in silence, their minds wander to assumptions and worries that don’t even matter. But once you return to that childlike state, you’re in creator mode — limitless possibility.”
Mindfulness practice, therefore, is not simply about stress reduction. It is about regaining authorship of our consciousness, reclaiming our ability to direct attention, and choosing creation over conditioning.
Balancing the Masculine and Feminine
Another key teaching Peter shared was the need for cohesion between masculine and feminine energies.
“The feminine brings vision, creativity, connection to Source. The masculine provides structure and gets stuff done. When they work together, you move from procrastination into creation.”
This balance is vital. Inspiration alone is not enough; without structure and action, it remains unmanifested. Conversely, structure without vision becomes empty repetition. When the two work together, we are able to bring higher possibilities into form.
Heart as Compass
Peter invited us to connect with the “mind behind the mind” through the heart — the deeper awareness beyond surface thought.
“There’s a place behind the mind — the mind behind the mind. From there, you connect to your higher self, guides, and Source. That’s the compass: the heart.”
This practice of heart-centered awareness shifts us out of confusion and into direct knowing. It is not about waiting for external confirmation but trusting our inner guidance, allowing passion, joy, and service to shape our path. As one of my mentor's reminds me often, the greatest success I ever had was when I trusted my internal guidance system. Mindfulness can help us get in touch with ourselves, reconnect with our body and mind, and heart, to help guide us through the greatest of difficulties, despair, and find greater clarity.
Matt Khan shared what he calls the Golden Question to shift into a higher soul perspective and the question is..."what if the worst things that ever happened to me were the greatest opportunities I've ever been given." Tuning into the heart begins to open you up to all the flood of emotions to see things in a new light.
Everyone Matters — Including You
Perhaps one of the most moving parts of our dialogue came when Peter reminded me that every person is significant in this collective awakening. (TikTok clip of quote here.)
“If you are just you, we need just you right now. Everyone watching this — including you, James — we just need you right now. That’s all we need. The person, the words, the energy, the space that each one of us can hold is so unique to each and every being. We just need you.”
This was a profound reminder that no effort is wasted. Our presence, kindness, and authenticity ripple outward in ways we cannot always measure. Every voice, no matter the size of its platform, contributes to the whole.
The Power of Service and Presence
Peter grounded the conversation in simplicity:
“It doesn’t matter if someone knows about UFOs or spiritual teachings. If they’re a good person who would give the shirt off their back to help another, they’re already contributing to the new earth.”
At its core, spiritual practice is not about how much you know, but how much love, compassion, and integrity you bring into daily life. True transformation happens in the ordinary moments — in kindness, in presence, and in service to others.
Conclusion
Speaking with Peter Maxwell Slattery was a reminder that while the universe is vast and mysterious, the essence of our work here is simple: self-mastery, service, and love.
“If enough of us make changes now to create heaven on earth, we will manifest it far quicker than we can imagine.”
We are both students and teachers, shaping reality through our choices. And in this unfolding journey, every one of us matters.
